Question : 53 of 106
Marks: +1, -0
Find the sum of the products of the corresponding terms of the sequences 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 and 128, 32, 8, 2, 12\frac{1}{2}
Solution:
On multiplying the corresponding terms of sequences, we get 256, 128, 64, 32 and 16, which forms a G.P. of 5 terms
∴ Sum = 256 [1−(12)5]1−12\frac{\left[1-\left(\frac{1}{2}\right)^5\right]}{1-\frac{1}{2}} = 256×3116\frac{256\times 31}{16} = 496
