Question : 21 of 71
Marks: +1, -0
x2x^2 = –9y
Solution:
The given equation of parabola is x2x^2 = –9y,
which is of the form x2x^2 = –4ay.
∴ 4a = 9 ⇒ a = 94\frac{9}{4}
∴ Coordinates of focus are (0,94)\left(0,-\frac{9}{4}\right)
Axis of parabola is x = 0
Equation of the directrix is y = 94\frac{9}{4} ⇒ 4y - 9 = 0
Length of latus rectum = 4 × 94\frac{9}{4} = 9.
