An isolated point charge particle produces an electric filed E⃗\vec{E} at a point 3 m3\ \mathrm{m} away from it. The distance of the point at which the filed is   E⃗4\;\frac{\vec{E}}{4} will be
E=  14πε0  qr2E=\; \frac{1}{4\pi\varepsilon_0} \; \frac{q}{r^2}
In 1  st   1^{\;\text{st }\;} case,
E=  14πε0  q32=  14πε0  q9E=\; \frac{1}{4\pi\varepsilon_0} \; \frac{q}{3^2} =\; \frac{1}{4\pi\varepsilon_0} \; \frac{q}{9} .......(1)
In 2  nd   2^{\;\text{nd }\;} case,
  E4=  14πε0  qr2\; \frac{E}{4} =\; \frac{1}{4\pi\varepsilon_0} \; \frac{q}{r^2} ......(2)
Taking ratio,
  4=  r29\;4 =\; \frac{r^2}{9}
∴  r=6 m\therefore \; r=6\ \mathrm{m}
