The molecular formula of two carbon compound are C4H8\mathrm{C}_4\mathrm{H}_8 and C3H8\mathrm{C}_3\mathrm{H}_8 which one of the two is most likely to show addition reaction ? Justify your answer. Also give the chemical equation to explain the process of addition reaction in case.
Solution:  
(i) C4H8\mathrm{C}_4\mathrm{H}_8 : Butene - alkene( unsaturated hydrocarbon)
(ii) C3H8\mathrm{C}_3\mathrm{H}_8 : propane - alkane (saturated hydrocarbon)
C4H8\mathrm{C}_4\mathrm{H}_8 i.e., butene shows addition reaction as it is unsaturated hydrocarbon
