Question : 90 of 271
Marks: +1, -0
3x1+2x4\frac{3x}{1+2x^4}
Solution:
Let I=∫3x1+2x4dxI=\int\frac{3x}{1+2x^4}dx
Put x2=tx^2 = t ⇒2xdx=dt\Rightarrow 2x dx = dt ⇒xdx=dt2\Rightarrow xdx = \frac{dt}{2}
∴I=32∫dt1+2t2\therefore I = \frac{3}{2}\int\frac{dt}{1+2t^2}
=34∫dt12+t2= \frac{3}{4}\int\frac{dt}{\frac{1}{2}+t^2}
=34∫dt(12)2+t2= \frac{3}{4}\int\frac{dt}{\left(\frac{1}{\sqrt{2}}\right)^2+t^2}
=34⋅112tan⁡−1(t12)+C= \frac{3}{4} \cdot \frac{1}{\frac{1}{\sqrt{2}}} \tan^{-1}\left(\frac{t}{\frac{1}{\sqrt{2}}}\right)+C
=322tan⁡−1(2t)+C= \frac{3}{2\sqrt{2}} \tan^{-1}(\sqrt{2}t)+C
