Explain why fluorine forms only one oxoacid, HOF.
Solution:  
Due to high electronegativity and absence of d orbitals, F does notform oxoacids such as HOFO,HOFO2 and HOFO3 in which the oxidationstate of F is +3, +5 and +7. It just forms one oxoacid, i.e., HOF in which theoxidation state of F is + 1.
