A pair of adjacent coils has a mutual inductance of 1.5 H. If the current in one coil changes from 0 to 20 A in 0.5 s, what is the change of flux linkage with the other coil?
Solution:  
Let the current changes from 0 to 20 A in coil 1 and we are looking for change of flux linked with coil 2.
Ï•2\phi_2 = MI1MI_1
and Δϕ2\Delta\phi_2 = MΔI1M\Delta I_1
Δϕ2\Delta\phi_2 = 1.5 [20 - 0] or Δϕ2\Delta\phi_2 = 30 Wb
