Question : 6 of 24
Marks: +1, -0
A negligibly small current is passed through a wire of length 15 m and uniform cross-section 6.0 × 107m210^{-7}\,\mathrm{m}^2, and its resistance is measured to be 5.0 Ω. What is the resistivity of the material at the temperature of the experiment?
Solution:
We know the relation, R = ρ lA\frac{l}{A} ⇒ 5 = ρ 156×107\frac{15}{6 \times 10^{-7}}
∴ Resistivity , ρ = 30×10715\frac{30 \times 10^{-7}}{15} = 2 × 10710^{-7} Ω m
