The perpendicular from the origin to a line meets it at the point (–2, 9) , find the equation of the line.
Solution:  
Let OP ⊥ PN
Slope of OP = 9−0−2−0\frac{9-0}{-2-0} = −92\frac{-9}{2}
∴ Slope of PN = 29\frac{2}{9}
The equation of line is (y − 9) = 29\frac{2}{9} (x + 2)
⇒ 9y – 81 = 2x + 4 ⇒ 2x – 9y + 85 = 0
