Question : 16 of 74
Marks: +1, -0
Passing through the point (–4, 3) with slope 12\frac{1}{2}.
Solution:
We know that the equation of a line with slope m and passing through the point (x0,y0)(x_0, y_0) is given by (yy0)(y - y_0) = m (xx0)(x - x_0).
Here m = 12\frac{1}{2} , x0x_0 = - 4 , y0y_0 = 3
Hence, the required equation is
(y - 3) = 12\frac{1}{2} (x + 4) ⇒ 2y - 6 = x + 4 ⇒ x - 2y + 10 = 0
