Question : 37 of 54
Marks: +1, -0
Given P(A) = 35\frac{3}{5} and P (B) = 15\frac{1}{5}. Find P (A or B), if A and B are mutually exclusive events.
Solution:
When A and B are mutually exclusive events.
⇒ A ∩ B = ϕ ⇒ P(A ∩ B) = 0
∴ P(A∪B) = P(A) + P(B) = 35+15\frac{3}{5}+\frac{1}{5} = 45\frac{4}{5}
