Question : 10 of 65
Marks: +1, -0
x3\frac{x}{3} > x2+1\frac{x}{2}+1
Solution:
The inequality is x3\frac{x}{3} > x2+1\frac{x}{2}+1
Transposing x2\frac{x}{2} to L.H.S., we get x3−x2\frac{x}{3}-\frac{x}{2} > 1
Simplifying, 2x−3x6\frac{2x-3x}{6} > 1 or - x6\frac{x}{6} > 1
Multiplying both sides by – 6, we get x < – 6
∴ The solution is (– ∞, – 6).
