Question : 17 of 71
Marks: +1, -0
x2x^2 = 6y
Solution:
The given equation of parabola is x2x^2 = 6y,
which is of the form x2x^2 = 4ay.
∴ 4a = 6 ⇒ a = 32\frac{3}{2}
∴ Coordinates of focus are (0,32)\left(0,\frac{3}{2}\right)
Axis of parabola is x = 0
Equation of the directrix is y = 32-\frac{3}{2} ⇒ 2y + 3 = 0
Length of latus rectum = 4×32\frac{4 \times 3}{2} = 6
