Question : 20 of 67
Marks: +1, -0
Calculate the wavelength of an electron moving with a velocity of 2.05 × 107 m s110^7 \text{ m s}^{-1}.
Solution:
Wavelength of electron (λ) = hmv\frac{h}{mv}
where, h = 6.626 × 103410^{-34} J s (Planck’s constant), m = mass of electron,v\overset{-}{v} = velocity of electron
∴ λ = 0.626×10349.1×1031×2.05×107\frac{0.626 \times 10^{-34}}{9.1 \times 10^{-31} \times 2.05 \times 10^7} = 0.355 × 101010^{-10} m = 3.55 × 101110^{-11} m
