Question : 22 of 40
Marks: +1, -0
Explain why BeH2\mathrm{BeH}_2 molecule has a zero dipole moment although the Be H bonds are polar?
Solution:
The dipole moment in case of BeH2\mathrm{BeH}_2 is zero. This is because the two equal bond dipoles point in opposite directions and cancel the effect of each other.
