The compound AgF2\mathrm{AgF}_2 is unstable compound. However, if formed, the compound acts as a very strong oxidising agent. Why ?
Solution:
In AgF2\mathrm{AgF}_2 oxidation state of Ag is +2 which is very unstable. Therefore, it quickly, accepts an electron to form the more stable +1 oxidation state.
Ag2++e\mathrm{Ag}^{2+} + e^{-}Ag+\mathrm{Ag}^{+}
Therefore, AgF2\mathrm{AgF}_2, if formed, will act as a strong oxidising agent.
