Calculate the value of i2i_2, if the angle of deviation is 43∘43^{\circ}.
Solution:  
Here, angle of prism (∠A)=60∘(\angle A)=60^{\circ}
( ∵\because It is an equilateral prism)
Angle of incidence (i1)=65∘(i_1)=65^{\circ}
Angle of deviation (δ)=43∘(\delta)=43^{\circ}
Angle of emergence (i2)=(i_2) = ?
We know, i1+i2=A+δi_1+i_2= A+\delta
⇒  65∘+i2  =60∘+43∘\Rightarrow\;65^{\circ}+i_2\;=60^{\circ}+43^{\circ}
∴  i2  =103∘−65∘\therefore\;i_2\;=103^{\circ}-65^{\circ}
=38∘=38^{\circ}
