What should be the angle between the direction of force and the direction of displacement, for work to be negative?
Solution:  
The angle between the direction of force and the direction of displacement, for work to be negative is 180∘180^{\circ}.
  ∵    W=Fscos⁡θ.\; \because \;\; W = Fs \cos \theta .
     Here   θ=180∘\;\; \text{ Here }\; \theta = 180^{\circ}
  ∴W=Fscos⁡180∘\; \therefore W = Fs \cos 180^{\circ}
      =−Fs    (∵cos⁡180∘=−1)\; \; \; = -Fs \; \; ( \because \cos 180^{\circ} = -1 )
∴\therefore Work done is negative.
