Question : 23 of 76
Marks: +1, -0
What should be the angle between the direction of force and the direction of displacement, for work to be negative?
Solution:
The angle between the direction of force and the direction of displacement, for work to be negative is 180180^{\circ}.
      W=Fscosθ.\; \because \;\; W = Fs \cos \theta .
     Here   θ=180\;\; \text{ Here }\; \theta = 180^{\circ}
  W=Fscos180\; \therefore W = Fs \cos 180^{\circ}
      =Fs    (cos180=1)\; \; \; = -Fs \; \; ( \because \cos 180^{\circ} = -1 )
\therefore Work done is negative.
