A satellite revolves around a planet in a circular orbit. What is the work done by the satellite at any instant? Give a reason.
Solution:  
The work done is zero.
Reason : The centripetal force acting on the satellite is perpendicular to the displacement.
As we know, W=FScos⁡θ∵θ=90∘W = FS \cos \theta \because \theta = 90^{\circ}
⇒cos⁡90∘=0,⇒W=0\Rightarrow \cos 90^{\circ} = 0, \Rightarrow W = 0
so the work done will be zero.
