If the iron is used for 2h2 \text{h} daily find the cost of running it for one week if it costs ₹4.25 per kWh\text{₹} 4.25 \text{ per } \text{kWh} .
Solution:  
Given:     P=2kW\;\; P = 2 \text{kW}
Time (t)=2h(t) = 2 \text{h} (daily)
Energy consumed in 1 day
  =   Power   ×   time   \; = \; \text{ Power } \; \times \; \text{ time } \;
  =2kW×2h\; = 2 \text{kW} \times 2 \text{h}
  =4kW h\; = 4 \text{kW h}
∴\therefore Energy consumed in 1 week
  =4kWh×7\; = 4 \text{kWh} \times 7
  =28kW h.\; = 28 \text{kW h} .
∴\therefore Cost of running it for 1 week
  =₹4.25×28\; = \text{₹} 4.25 \times 28
  =₹119\; = \text{₹} 119
