The following diagram shows a 60∘,30∘,90∘60^{\circ}, 30^{\circ}, 90^{\circ} glass prism of critical angle 42∘42^{\circ}. Copy the diagram and complete the path of incident ray ABA B emerging out of the prism marking the angle of incidence on each surface.
Solution:  
For refracting surface YZ,∠i=0∘{YZ}, \angle i=0^{\circ}
For refracting surface XZ,∠i=30∘{XZ}, \angle i=30^{\circ}
Since ∠i<∠ic,∴\angle i< \angle i_c, \therefore the ray bends away from the normal.
