In the above figure, when the prism is in its position of minimum deviation :
(i) The angle of incidence, (i1)(i_1) is equal to the angle of emergence (i2)(i_2),
(ii) The refracted may PQ\text{PQ} is parallel to the base BC\text{BC} of the prism.
