Salt R=MnO2/R = \mathrm{MnO}_2 / Magnese dioxide
MnO2\mathrm{MnO}_2 is a black solid, which on reacting with conc. HCl\mathrm{HCl} liberates greenish yellow chlorine gas which turns starch iodide paper blue black.
