Solution:  
Total numbers of outcomes while throwing dice is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Number greater than 3 are: 4, 6 out of which only one number appears while throwing dice.
∴ Probability (number greater than 3) =   favorable outcomeTotal number of outcomes\;\frac{\text{favorable outcome}}{\text{Total number of outcomes}}
=  26=\;\frac{2}{6}
=  13=\;\frac{1}{3}
