Question : 16 of 20
Marks: +1, -0
A bag contains red coloured , blue coloured and green coloured balls in the ratio 2 : 3 :4. A ball is drawn at random from the given bag. The probability that the ball so drawn being not of blue colour is
Solution:
Let the number of red, blue and green balls be in the ratio 2 :3 :4.
The total number of balls is
2x + 3x + 4x = 9x
Number of blue balls = 3x
Number of non-blue balls = 2x + 4x = 6x
Probability (not Blue) = No of non - blue ballsTotal numbers of balls\frac{\text{No of non - blue balls}}{\text{Total numbers of balls}}
=  6x9x=\;\frac{6x}{9x}
=  23=\;\frac{2}{3}
