Question : 40 of 60
Marks: +1, -0
The radius of curvature of a converging mirror is 30 cm30\ \text{cm}. At what distance from the mirror should an object be placed so as to obtain a virtual image?
Solution:
Radius of curvature of converging mirror(concave mirror) is 30 cm30\ \text{cm}.
To obtain a virtual image in case of concave mirror, object should be placed between pole and focus. Using, Focal length:
   Radius   2=  302=15 cm\frac{\;\text{ Radius }\;}{2}=\;\frac{30}{2}=15\ \text{cm}
Therefore, object should be placed between 0 cm\text{cm} and 15 cm15\ \text{cm}.
