An object is placed at a distance of 15 cm15\ \mathrm{cm} from a convex lens of focal length 20 cm20\ \mathrm{cm}. List four characteristics (nature, position, etc.) of the image formed by the lens

Given,
u=−15 cm, f  =20 cmu=-15\ \mathrm{cm},\ f\;=20\ \mathrm{cm}
  1f  =  1v−  1u\;\frac{1}{f}\;=\;\frac{1}{v}-\;\frac{1}{u}
  120  =  1v+  115\;\frac{1}{20}\;=\;\frac{1}{v}+\;\frac{1}{15}
  1v  =  120−  115\;\frac{1}{v}\;=\;\frac{1}{20}-\;\frac{1}{15}
v  =−60 cm.v\;=-60\ \mathrm{cm}.
Four characteristics of the image formed by the lens are :
(i) Virtual, (ii) Erect, (iii) At a distance of 60 cm\mathrm{cm} on the same side of the lens as the object, (iv) Enlarged or magnified image.
