Solution:  
2(2−1)\sqrt{2}(\sqrt{2} - 1)
=2×2−2×1= \sqrt{2} \times \sqrt{2} - \sqrt{2} \times 1
=2−2= 2 - \sqrt{2}
Therefore, 2\sqrt{2} is irrational number
Thus, 2−22 - \sqrt{2} is an irrational number
