The Champaran struggle can be termed as a huge success and victory because of the following reasons : (1) Gandhiji wanted to break the deadlock. (2) The amount of the refund was not important but the landlords obliged to surrender a part of the money and with it their prestige. (3) Lastly, the peasants had developed courage and learnt to amplify themselves. They had overcome their fear.
