About Exam

The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education is responsible for designing syllabus, curriculum, and other academic related policies for Kerala board class 12th examination.

Kerala Board of Higher Secondary Education is in charge of creating the curriculum, syllabus and enforcing other educational policies for the SSLC and Higher Secondary Examinations. They aim to promote Higher Secondary Education amongst all.

Earlier known as the pre-degree courses, the Class 11th and 12th have now been segregated from the University to bring it under the authority of DHSE (Directorate of Higher Secondary Education). They are also called Plus One and Plus Two classes. This was completed by the year 2001. This board will conduct the final exams at the end of the year for the Class 12 or higher secondary students. Students enrolled for Class 12 under the Kerala Education Board will have to give these HSE exams and pass, before they can be declared as eligible to continue with their education.

Every year the Kerala Board of Higher Secondary Education conducts it’s class 12 final examination in the month of March. Every year more than 3 lakh students appear for Kerala board plus two examination. The board is always known for its good result and curriculum. It always brings significant changes in the curriculum and syllabus to make learning more effective.

Exam Pattern

Students can choose from given scheme of work for Kerala Plus Two. They are languages as optional or second language (Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Urdu, French,Latin,Syriac, Russian, Sanskrit, Arabic, Contemporary English, Latin etc.), English literature as a main subject, Geology, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, Home Science, Electronics, Anthropology, Journalism, Social Work and so on.
