About Exam

In preparation for the AP State Board Class 10 exam, students have the opportunity to choose from a diverse range of subjects. Mathematics, Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), Social Studies (History, Geography, Civics, Economics), and Language Subjects (Telugu, Hindi, English) are among the core subjects. Additionally, students may opt for additional subjects such as Sanskrit, Urdu, or other regional languages based on their interests and school curriculum.

About Exam

In 1953, the Board Of Secondary Education Of Andhra Pradesh (BSEAP) also known as the Directorate of Government Examinations was established to execute and govern various activities of secondary education of Andhra Pradesh. It is an autonomous department functioning under the ministry of secondary education, Government of Andhra Pradesh. It supervises the system of Secondary education in Andhra Pradesh State playing the following roles:
  • Devising the courses of study
  • Prescribing syllabus
  • Conducting examinations
  • Granting recognition to schools
  • Providing support, leadership and direction for all secondary educational institutions under its jurisdiction

The AP class 10 examination, popularly known as the SSC exam, is conducted by the Directorate of Government Examinations, twice in a year. The Annual exam is conducted in the month of March and the Advanced Supplementary Examination is conducted in May/June. Every year, over six lakh students from across the state appear for the SSC exam. In addition to SSC examinations, the board also conducts other minor exams. 

Exam Pattern

  1. According to recent orders, CCE exam pattern; consisting of summative and formative assessment is to be followed for Class 10 examinations in Andhra Pradesh.
  2. All the schools in AP affiliated to the state government have to follow the CCE pattern of examinations
  3. According to the CCE exam pattern, the Class 10 annual exams will be conducted for 80 marks; 40 marks for each paper and 20 external marks, which are allotted for internal assessment

In order to score well in exams, students are advised to solve previous year SSC Question Papers and SSC model Papers.
