Measurement system analysis
Calculate, analyze, and interpret measurement system capability using
repeatability and reproducibility (GR&R), measurement correlation,
bias, linearity, percent agreement, and precision/tolerance (P/T).
(Evaluate)
Repeatable and reproducible (GR&R) - assuming that gage accuracy and
sensitivity are assured, it is often desirable to determine the variance
components of a gage measuring system.
Measurement correlation – comparison of the
measurement values from one system with the corresponding values reported by
one or more different measurement systems.
Bias – the difference between the output of the
measurement system and the true value.
Linearity – is found by obtaining
reference part measurement values throughout the operating range of the
instrument, and plotting the bias against the reference values.
Percent agreement -
Precision/tolerance (P/T) – the
ratio between the estimated measurement error (precision) and the tolerance of
the characteristic being measured.
